Hi, Iâm Aleisha!
As a dietitian, I take an evidence-based, holistic and practical approach when working with clients. Since working in the EDS and Co space, I have come to recognise my own lived experience, connecting the dots between ârandom symptomsâ and hypermobility, histamine sensitivities and dysautonomia.
I also have previous lived experience of an eating disorder. Now recovered, I love working with clients who have eating disorders, including ARFID, and those simply wanting to improve their relationship with food and their bodies.
I understand how easy it can be to develop a 'fear of food,' particularly when navigating other health conditions such as food allergies, intolerances, autoimmunity and IBS. I am an ANZAED credentialled practitioner and engage in monthly supervision to continue building on skills while ensuring I maintain professional standards and safety.
Food can be overwhelming, and that is why I love working with clients to improve their relationship with food and learn how to nourish their bodies in a way that feels safe and that suits their personal needs.
In between clinic days, I work on my side project, The Hummus Hub, which is a platform for sharing and selling recipe eBooks to support AusHEAL, a not-for-profit charity that supports sustainable healthcare in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) which I volunteer with. The Hummus Hub donates 50% of all eBook sales to AusHeal. You can check them out here (and I plan to release some lower histamine recipes soon!).
